Wow, that is a mess! BTW, it looks like someone was scared pretty bad in that office, the first picture has two piles of what appears to be crap.

And Matt, good work on the plasma containment field! A core breach would suck!

A stick of deodorant fell off our bathroom shelf. That was the extent of the damage at home.

I'm sorry to hear about damage in people's homes and offices. No damage at home and all of the creatures are fine. I had just got back to a client's house after walking her new rescue German Shepherd. Thurston was with me as well. I felt the first jolt and said "Earthquake". Thurston barked once at the noise of the jolt but none of the dogs were phased as the ground just kept moving. I was impressed at how long the thing went on! I thought it must've been larger and farther away. I'm glad I was wrong.

It's a relief to have an earthquake. I get nervous when we go a while without one. The earth needs to relieve that stress.

Earthquakes are so weird, the way they skip around. I'm shocked at the damage in some areas, because nothing even came off our shelves here.

was at work and was impressed with the coordination and preparedness of established procedures. we had an earthquake drill in April and another planned in the near future. the communication was near flawless and those that were designated safety officers were calm and in control. exectutive teams made the rounds to check on all and provide any needed assistance. only minor damage, like bits of falling plaster was sustained. the building was evac'd for a short time and we returned after the all clear was given.

at home, "over the hill" from the epicenter, things were apparently rockin'. stuff knocked over, and pictures moved. looks like a portrait of Walt took a wild ride, but, it did not fall. Abe did not fare so well however.

A bronze bust of Lincoln was destroyed. the head still looks great though. so, i no longer have a bust - just a head. Gratefully, this very heavy bronze did NOT bounce back into the glass curio cabinet filled with memorabilia.

When I arrived home, I noticed several tins of Thinking Putty had fallen off a shelf and were strewn across my living room floor. I also noticed some of my Wally memorabilia had fallen over inside their glass-enclosed display, but fortunately nothing was broken.

JW, did a couple ladies in your office have their merkins fall off during the shaking?

Hmm... looking at the regional quake map, there seems to be quite a lot of (minor) activity all up and down the San Andreas in the last week.
