The Star Trek image shows various classes of ships. The Enterprise D was a Galaxy Class ship, which most definitely is on that chart.

I was going to say that, but I thought the Intrepid and the Yeager were actual ship names, so I second guessed.

There are occasions when the class and the name of the ship are the same, but it's not typical.

Intrepid is in fact a ship name and a class. If memory serves starfleet designates the name of the first ship in a new class as the class name.

Wasn't the Enterprise the first Galaxy class?

That's called a lead ship and it's a long naval tradition; the first ship of a class also names the class. There are a few exceptions, but that's the general rule.
And here's a similar pic that I've always thought was really cool, too. |

Heh, I didn't ever realize that one was different universes. I just put "star wars" in a Google image search, saw the image with some tie fighters, an imperial transport, and some Calamari Cruisers and didn't look any closer. I did notice that some of the ships looked more...organic than the usual Star Wars universe, but I assumed that they were taken from the newer incarnations (prequels, animated stuff, etc.).
