That's the general idea. Still it needs a bit more don't you think? Otherwise why not just order a pound or two of bacon off Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Nueskes-Applewood-Smoked-Bacon-Sampler/dp/B0002IF5CI/ref=sr_1_15?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1355668794&sr=1-15&keywords=bacon)?

Once it is all ground up (with other parts of the pig and turkey and bacon) does it really matter? Since they added artificial smoke flavor doesn't it essentially just mean they made a high salt hot dog?

Snow, I do the same thing (only I get the cured smoked bacon ends from the meat department that are real cheep)! I keep them in the freezer, then slice some off, and put it back it the freezer. With the high fat content they don't freeze real hard, so it's easy to slice.

I use this where bacon lardons are required.

Well, one's usually about 6 inches long, fairly flaccid to handle at first, but can get firmer, it's all greasy and slippery and the best thing to do with it is stick it in someone's meat.

The other one's usually about 6 inches long.... oh, never mind.

I'm not a big fan of See's, I can live without In-and-Out, and I have no idea what that other one is. BUT, the lack of JitB is a serious issue. To me, the In-N-Out fries vary greatly. Sometimes, they're quite good. Sometimes, it seems like each fry has been cleaved off of some strange styrofoam-like potato composite.

I wanted to try 5 Guys yesterday to see if the fries were truly "Da'am," but my son said they're no good. So, we went to In-N-Out.
