I made bacon, potatoes and eggs for breakfast last Sunday.

Fry up a pound or so of bacon. Leave the grease in the pan, and use it cook up the taters (I use Ore Ida Country Style) adding garlic and Spike (or Greek Seasoning). Scramble and cook eggs to coincide with completion of eggs.

I finally remembered the guy who gave me (and thus, you) "Bacon is meat candy." (http://www.woodypaige.com/)

Someone else may have, and likely did, give it to him, but it was the taped up sign behind him that spawned this thread, oh so many months ago.

I've been trying to figure it out for months, then I saw him on ESPN, and it was an epiphany, as though light shone from the skies above, onto my elliptical machine at the gym, with trumpets blaring and the voice of Alan Rickman (if there's a "god" then he's the voice of it, I'm fairly certain) came down and said "Yeah, him." Okay, maybe not that elaborate, but that's how I'd write it for the script of my soon-to-be TV movie.

So yeah...

Now amended with a better site.

Wait wait, even better... he's horny (to the point of possible harassment) aaaand likes bacon. Go figure. (http://thebiglead.com/?p=2651)

Haha, I totally missed my own reference!!!

I forgot he was in that... as the voice of god no less. But... you have to admit, before ever seeing or, or for those who haven't seen it, he pretty much has the voice of god, drizzled with bacon.

Actually, I think you should process the Bananas, Bacon and Peanut Butter in a quisinart until it's a smooth paste-like sandwich spread.

Kraft could manufacture it, and call it BanaNutAconMite :snap:  :D

"Oooh, it's the perfect health food, because it has all three food groups: Sugar, Fat & Salt."

Take a generous scoop of Lashbears BanaNutAconMite into the blender and add half a bottle of Dom Perignon, then blend till frothy. Serve in martini-glasses - this incorporates the fourth food group, Alcohol.

Your brain will thank you, but your friends won't.

Addendum:

Whilst scientists were quick to disenfrachise the planet Pluto that we all grew up with, they were slow (really slow) to recognise Alcohol as the fourth food group. What a pack of kill-joys. They are only just now beginning to realise that "Pluto" was actually supposed to be called "Pub" - which of course explains the term "He's off the planet".

And for God's sake, it's Pluto Pub, not Pluto Pup*.

As always,

Scientific Breakthrough

The AmoGlycoPsuedoEfoTyalomine Drug Company has produced the World's first BanaNutAconMite tablet.

Whilst proud of their synthesis of the core quasi-food supplimentary additive "BanaNutAconMite-tartrate", the Marketing Spokesperson of AmoGlycoPsuedoEfoTyalomine was slightly taken aback when Susie-Anne Krellingshaw of Arkansas, aged 11, announced "My Dad said 'tartrate my ass - heart rate is more like it'".

Company Officials have declined to comment on claims that the BanaNutAconMite tablet increases one's blood pressure and cholesterol to near off-the-scale readings, however the Marketing Spokesperson has reiterated the value of the drug to the "Othi-epian*" [sic] people as "an alternative to eating desert dust".

*The AmoGlycoPsuedoEfoTyalomine Spokesperson has since learnt that Ethiopia is an African state, and that cholesterol isn't a type of furniture polish.

But it's all about the Bacon.

Ok..Ok..

The Origins Of Whale Bacon.

A composition written by Susie-Anne Krellingshaw from Arkansas, aged 11.

The Japanese people that lived there wanted to eat something. The moms* were little people because they were small. The daddies were little too, but they got into boats to get fish and things in shells. The ocean got rough sometimes, and the daddies vomitted overboard. But not always. To add verisimilitude to this otherwise bald and uninteresting narrative, the daddies would catch a whale for scientific porpoises** and make it into a size that the moms* could carry home. This was very thoughtful, because the people could sign the Kyoto Protocol on account of the fact that whale bacon doesn't emit greenhouse gases. Much, except a bit if it's left out of the takofumibushi for more than a kirotakiochi. Then it stinks.

I once had a goldfish named "Whale". Mr Goldbloom (our neighbour) leaned over the fence and asked me why I was crying. I told him that "Whale" had died, and that I was burying him. He asked me why the grave I had dug was so big. Well, I answered, "It's because your f**king cat ate him".

Susie-Anne Krellingshaw.

Yesterday's Wide Lawns blog (http://widelawns.blogspot.com) post is about Bacon Salt.

Bacon is good. Salt is good. Together they are really good. The salt acts as a vehicle to spread the joy that is bacon, to places where, in its long, greasy, gristly strip form, bacon could never travel. Now you can sprinkle bacon taste on everything without splattering the inside of your microwave with pig fat or smoking up your kitchen. I said, I have got to get me some of this bacon salt, but I was at my friend's house and all he had was one container of it that he wan't about to give up.

(bolding mine)
My Club Sandwich has chicken, apple-smoked bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, avocado and secrets. If I make it for myself I leave out the mayo. I’ll tell you my secrets. First I poach the chicken and slice it real thin. I also use whole grain toast and I butter it. The mayo was homemade, the veggies seasoned, and I brush my bacon with maple syrup, sprinkle it was cinnamon, cayenne and black pepper before baking it. Trust me. It’s beyond good. Elton John can tell you. He ordered at least one of my Club sandwiches every day.

NON- BACON RELATED POST

Though I am curious how one does not need to click on the link to record a hit on his site. Is software that sophisticated?

I've never had reason to try it, but I've always wondered about embedded images. Images are linked in from external servers (ie. photobucket). So when you view a message with an image does the vBulletin software go and get it, or does it just redirect your PC to it? If it's the latter (which would be my guess) then as soon as you view any message with an image your IP address hits the site hosting the image where it can be tracked as a hit. I would assume that the spam message included an image as part of the post.

Bacon-y thoughts for an afternoon:

1. I'm glad my Cobb salad came with real bacon. Plus, the bleu cheese dressing wasn't half bad, even if it tasted like a bleu cheese/cheddar dressing.

2. My house will never have Bacos. I will always have real bacon, or nothing at all. No substitutions. I grew up in an imitation bacon house and I vow, "Never again!"

3. What does bacon not go with? Seriously, I'm having a hard time with this one. It goes with food items in every major category, so I tried to break it down while eating the Cobb salad. I figure that maybe it might not go with cottage cheese, but I think that probably tastes good with bacon. I'm racking my brain for more foods that it might not go well with, but I'm coming up with blanks. It might not taste good with... Oh, maybe I should give up.

4. Bacon is gud.

*Vanilla Ice Cream

*Bannana Pudding

It would seem that the only thing I could come up with is sweets. But even some I could think of might not be too bad. I started to put apple fritters, but then apple and bacon go well.

I made a breakfast bananas fosters and added bacon. It was one of the best things I've ever created for breakfast. Everyone in my house loved it!

There is a chocolatier that makes a bacon chocolate... I'm certain € posted that somewhere in this thread...

See, I think bacon would taste good on vanilla ice cream. Then again, I'm somewhat lactose intolerant and ice cream is the thing that does it every time.

Twinkies - you might have me there.

Berries - are you kidding me? I think it would taste fantastic with berries! While I've never eaten them specifically to be together, nothing, in my mind, is better than a breakfast with bacon, eggs and some form of fruit.

I guess I'm in the frame of mind that nothing goes better with bacon than sweets. I'm not as big of a sweets fan, so perhaps that's why adding such a savory is so appealing to me...

What's more baconey than the smell of bacon frying in the pan?

The smell of bacon baking in the oven! I finally tried it last night, and oven-cooked bacon is AWESOME. It's actually MORE baconey!

Bacon salt, yes, I bought some, even though the ingredient list was scary. I mean, I had to. So, it arrived and I tasted it, it's not bacon, it's not horrible, but I would have to be crossing the Sahara with no hope of bacon to satisfy a craving to shake some in my hand and lick it off. That said, I'm game, I roasted some new potatoes in the oven with olive oil, pepper and bacon salt. Still not bacony, but my arteries are thanking me for not using some of the skippy jar filled with bacon rendered fat. Not bacon, it does give the spuds a yummy, slightly hickory flavor. All in all, and interesting experiment, but there truly is, nothing on earth like the real, time-tested, taste-tested appeal of honest to goodness bacon.

A few weeks ago my coworkers and I declared a "Bacon Day". Put up bacon signs, and brought in food that had bacon in it. Even cupcakes (topped with bacon bits).

Here my bacon inspired toon:

Nice one, Josh... but your cartoon raises the question (as asked by The Cramps): "What's behind the mask?"

MP, that's not the Cramps question that immediately jumped to mind. Instead it was "what color panties are you wearing and how long have you been wearing them?"
