Picked up the Shag lunchbox yesterday at Character Warehouse for $14. Awesome.

GD and CP: ugh, sucks about the dog, but glad to hear they're leaving. Tell your neighbors to get their home on the market ASAP. You don't want them trying to sell it in fall and winter if you can help it. Better chance to sell in summer (and keep up your property values). Oh, and the added benefit of getting them gone sooner ;)

So a friend of mine (my friend H, who some of you met at my bday party) recently returned from vacation to discover someone stole her rose bushes out of their front garden. Their ROSEBUSHES. Four frickin' holes right there at the front of her property. WTF kind of world do we live in? Another reason I wouldn't live in the Valley again.

But things like that do happen, and here in OC as well! My mom had a potted palm walk off right from her front door porch. And when we did some landscaping at my church (two blocks from Disneyland) four palms were pulled up and dissapeared the next day! From a church even!

Maybe it was the same people. We'll call them the "Four Hole Bandits"!

Zelda's pretty front-loaded with story. It takes a while, but eventually you're are doing more playing than watching. It's not the most amazing RPG ever, but once you start getting to the dungeons, there's some good entertaining problem-solving.

Meanwhile, I'm gonna be an uncle. :D

Of course, I posted that right before I reached up to pet him, which startled him, which led to him falling off the couch.

I'd still like to trade places with my cat, but I'd like to fall off the couch less often than he does.

Okay, point taken. I would not want to fall *kersplat* off the counter whilst I am begging for wet food.
Or any other less than graceful moment my cat has.

I did read, in something my son brought home, that if your cat is asleep you should say their name softly before you pet them, they are less likely to startle.

Alex

I don't think I'd trade places. Having to beg to go outside, peeing in the laundry room, and being endlessly entranced by twist ties doesn't sound so great to me.

Though sometimes I would like to sleep on the top shelf of the entertainment center on top of the DVD cases.

ooooooooooooh you have a point too.... I'll have to think on this more.

However.... I was just sitting here thinking how awake I felt, and how nice it was to have caffine.
As I stirred my yogurt, and prepared to eat my first bite..... <drum roll>
I was trying to eat with my pen.

So now... do I clean the pen? or throw it away?
Do I eat the yogurt?
or
Do I now go home and go back to bed?

The startling thing works great on rats too. Thudder is really fun. She will be stalking something, or doing something she shouldn't and all it takes is a light, quick touch on her back with a "Thudder!" and she has been know to jump a foot off the ground.

Meanwhile, I also became interested in a silver and black tabby, but she's a heap of trouble and probably wouldn't be good with the boys (per my second visit with her today. While at said visit, I met that little tyke pictured above. His coloring is shades of taupe and mocha - more Siamese colors than brown tabby. SWEET sweet baby boy. Here's a video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHapMqlp0oE)which includes Ike and his brother Iggy (who was adopted yesterday) as well as the troublemaker grey tabby girl (Dally) and a Tuxedo boy - all at the Seal Beach Animal Shelter.

Erica - I'm tempted to say that life is always easy. You make your decisions, you take your chances, you deal with consequences. It's always got challenges, and regardless of the size of the problem and the stakes involved, there's always good and bad ways to deal with things. Sometimes it's mistakes and bad times that lead to wisdom and happiness, and those that lead "easy" lives end up totally unprepared to deal with life....not to mention becoming total assholes in the process.

I've had my sht. I just remember that in the long run I'm one of the luckiest people alive - we all are, because we have real choices, even among the chaos.

Posting a one liner does not indicate anything more than a crappy day - a typical crappy day. E has posted many times in this thread about the stresses in her life because of school and other crap. We all love and support her in this trying time. Our posts in response to this ONE post are simply a way for myself (and I suspect others - though I do not portend to speak for others) to keep the spirit light.

Most everyone on this board, if they are in need of supportive words and energy, are able to ask for it knowing that this is a safe and supportive community in which to do it. I believe that E is one of those people who know this and (without doing proper research) believe she may have done so in the past.

And to Erica: if there is something more than the daily crap going on in your life at this moment and you truly needed support, then I do apologize.

5. Lay out two corn dogs on rack in oven.
6. Let bake for as long as box says.
7. Remove from oven.
8. Apply a bit of mustard.
9. Eat.
10. Realize these are the same corn dogs they sell already hot at the AM/PM you passed on way to grocery store and next time you'll just cut out the middle man.

At the risk of speaking for her, no, the "become total assholes" was not directed at anyone, it was simply her response to Erica's post.

Hmm...

I do thank everyone here for the support that I do get. I think my question was more a moment of rhetorical flabberghastery. (That might be my new favorite made up word). While things are more frustrating as of late, more than the recommended daily allowance, I'm actually just fine. That was me just trying to poke fun at myself, my situation and life in general.

Easy is boring - that I agree with. What's hard is watching stuff spin out of control and feeling like I have little hope to affect the outcomes. My lesson so far this year this year, an extension of lessons learned past, is to focus on what I have an impact on, and to take care of myself in the process. It's never easy, and I suspect that's the plight of many on this board.

On the upside, things are looking up (go figure... on the upside things might actually be looking up... this is where I laugh at myself), and I'm continually reminded how fortunate I really am - I have love in all facets - something that's hard to find these days.

That and I still have this mental image of a champagne cork launching 30 feet into the air. That's still enough to make me smile. :D

I love the knitted cat hats. Sounds like something a friend of mine would make, since she's already made Flying Spaghetti Monster hats that are truly obnoxious.

Right now, I'm sitting here in editing hell, because of some very bad footage that I shot early on when I was still getting used to my camera 5 months ago (thank god it was a freebie job). It's driving me nuts, because some key shots that would totally make the story are just screwed up beyond hope. Very frustrating indeed. So, I'll probably have to spend extra time adding in some effects to distract from the lack of storyline. (But, hey, that tactic works for some big blockbuster films. ;) )

A good note about the business - I got my second camera yesterday at an absolute steal. I got an almost new Canon XL2 for $2,200. (A man bought it in March, used it twice, and decided to upgrade himself to HD instead.) It's gorgeous, and has a lot of great features.

Then again, you're all probably not as bored as I am right now, looking at the same scene over and over and over.

I just got back from my lunchtime walk. Being in the area we're in (at work) I can have quite a range of "visual experiences" on my lunchtime walks just by altering course a few blocks.

Today's walk prompted the following pondering.

How low on the hooker totem pole do you have to be to end up working the morning shift on a Tuesday at the corner of 60th and San Pablo?

Followed by this: And how much demand is there that two women are working this shift?

Ugh, and being hookers I'd imagine the variety is definitely the 'generic' type.

Okay, type 'A' or type B'.

Either one a sure sign of desperation.

I remember Jr. High and sex ed. What a teacher we had. She told us that whenever we became active we would find ourselves calling up the guys that we never even wanted to talk to. Call them up late at night to hook up...ew, a '70s version of a 'booty call' I guess.

Regular number of toes, but REALLY long legs. She's obviously part Abyssinian. And, it's a GIRL! I've been looking at her for 3 days. I've loved her every time, but was afraid of her girlishness and her bossy personality. She's been home an hour and Scoundrel (who else) is the only one having problems. Aleister is currently licking her toes.

She's silver and black with golden brown eyes, a loud purr and she coos. She's about 3 months old, all shots current, already been fixed and she's mocrochipped. Now, we just need a name for her. Sinestra is one current possibility.

I hate my daughter's Language Arts teacher. F U Mrs. Morgan. A big F.U.

And next time you want to give her detention, you damn well not just put a start time on it and tell her she'll leave when you decide it's time. Doesn't work that way.

And with only 1 1/2 weeks left of school I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!

I've written an email to the Principal Mrs. Morgan. I've told him you won't be going to detention until I get some answers - and guess what? You can kiss my fat a$$ if you don't like it.

Oh - and the next time you think it's okay to keep a student from working in class because they run out of lead in their pencil and you'd prefer to give them an F on the assignment instead of letting them borrow a pencil you can go FOAD.

That's right Mrs. Morgan. You've f-ed with us f-ing year. My daughter is no saint - but you're the only class she gets detentions in. To the point where other kids have asked us why you hate her so much.

Why is that Mrs. Morgan? Get off on the wrong foot with her? Just don't like her? What?

Oh - and your condescending attitude and tone on the phone with me is just outragious. No matter how hard I've tried to be nice, to look at things from your point of view, to get the "real" story of what's happened, you've treated me like some stupid yokel that you just pat on the head and say - there there - whatever you want. whatever you want.

Well - what I was is for you to F.O.! Right now. Go ahead. We'll all feel better when your done.

Pru - AWESOME!

I was just teased about my resurgence of dork-dom. Of course, I've been caught a couple of times being a total geek, but I just can't help it. Must be a part of my nature, whether it's music, movies, television, random crap... I'm a geek - I GIVE UP!

Not Afraid - I actually like the name, but... *pause* (or is that *paws*... OK, that was nerdy, too)... it reminds me of the pharmaceutical commercials and their "smooth" sounding names. Maybe I have to meet her to grasp onto it. Maybe she'll be the kitty to cure what ails us? Hehehe :) OK, now I like it.

Betty - UGH! There are such bad eggs in the system that it stinks the whole place up! Thankfully for you, the year is almost up. It is a point that certainly needs to be brought up... I can also tell that you're pretty balanced about the situation - you know your daughter is no perfect angel, and that's the perfect perspective with which to come at it. And it's at the point that other people are asking why the teacher hates her so much? Wow... truly astounding. I hope your daughter does realize that not all teachers are like this one.

I know I've mentioned it on the boards some time ago, but I had a Kindergarten teacher that seemed to target me. Let other kids slide while catching me on every slip up. It seemed like at least once a week she was telling me that I just wasn't ready for Kindergarten. I was young, and I can remember just being so hurt. My mom and step-father were already considering moving, and decided to speed it up. They found a new home and a new school to enroll me in. As a precaution, I took some sort of test... I don't remember what it's called, but I remember being taken out of class for a few days... to see if I was ready. And I was.

I guess the thing is - what a teacher says and does can often have a permanent impact on how kids handle their education from that point forward. A negative experience like that could be detrimental to her esteem in upcoming classes, something everyone in the school system needs to be aware of.

Good luck, Betty!

Wow, Mrs. Morgan sounds like a total turd.

I admire how you support your daughter in this ordeal. Some parents just default to the teacher's way of thinking and leave it at that.

The fact that she isn't a problem with other teachers makes me think something's wrong with Morgan.

Umm... isn't the word for left, Sinistra? Same contrary implications, less resemblance to a sleep aid ;)

You know, T.S. Eliott's "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats" has some great names: Jellylorum, Skimbleshanks, Grizzabella, Mungojerrie, Rumpleteaser, etc.

Hehehe... Mungojerrie and Rumpelteazer

Mungojerrie and Rumpelteazer were a very notorious couple of cats.
As knockabout clowns, quick-change comedians, tight-rope walkers and acrobats
They had an extensive reputation. They made their home in Victoria Grove -
That was merely their centre of operation, for they were incurably given to rove.
They were very well known in cornwall Gardens, in Launceston Place and in Kensington Square -
they had really a little more reputation than a couple of cats can very well bear.

If the area window was found ajar
And the basement looked like a field of war,
If a tile or two came loose on the roof,
Which presently ceased to be waterproof,
If the drawers were pulled out from the bedroom chests,
And you couldn't find one of your winter vests,
Or after supper one of the girls
Suddenly missed her Woolworth pearls:
Then the family would say: `It's that horrible cat!
It was Mungojerrie - or Rumpelteazer!' - And most of the time they left it at that.

She's cuuuuuuuuuuuuuutte!!! I like naming her Sinistre or naming herself. Names usually come if you give it a couple of days, as I'm sure you are very much aware.

I've loved her every time, but was afraid of her girlishness and her bossy personality. She's been home an hour and Scoundrel (who else) is the only one having problems. Aleister is currently licking her toes.

I've got a girl kitty and she's wonderful.

Oh but it reminds me. What's the best drink at Quarks bar?

Anything that smokes. :)

The Romulan Ale looked interesting, but I'm too much of a chicken to drink blue beer.

I bought some and it's just not that good. ::Sigh:: It is blue though.

You know, T.S. Eliott's "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats" has some great names: Jellylorum, Skimbleshanks, Grizzabella, Mungojerrie, Rumpleteaser, etc.

I like the Skimbleshanks song. :)

Of course, in high school I ate lunch while watching an autopsy (not because I was hungry but because I knew it would disgust fellow classmates).

You sound like me.

The washing the dead is the best I've got.

How interesting! I've moved dead people but never washed them.

I have "We Are FAmily" stuck in my head. It was the finale song for tonight's dance rehearsal. And it's better than the other candidate for sticking around - the Barney song. ::shudder::

I like the Skimbleshanks song. :)

I know! It's so happy! And Mr. Mistoffelees!

Cats wasn't all that bad, but I sometimes think that the songs on their own are better than the show as a whole. That's more a compliment to the songs than a complaint about the show, btw.

I liked my serving yogurt job. Of course, it was my first job, and I was happy to have that $2.65 an hour.

My "almost" weirdest job is one I didn't get. Twenty years or so ago, I interviewed in southern California for an executive assistant job to a star. The interviewer was a stressed out business manager, and the star, it turned out, was Zsa Zsa Gabor, whom I never got to meet. The interview was going well until it emerged that one of the duties was to follow Zsa Zsa into her stables while she gave orders. I mentioned my uncontrolled allergy to horses. He said he'd talk to her about it. I didn't get the job. The stables were the dealbreaker.

NA - Kitty names - what a cute Kitty...

How about Mele - not sure how to spell it - but you say it May Lay (isn't that hawaiian or something for storm or disarray or something?)

I also like Beek. As in Beek's place - a fun place to take the family off roading (well dirt roading) to near Corona.

I don't really notice, but then again I tend to open a bunch of threads at once. But, not having studied the algorithm vB uses to populate a thread view, it's not far fetched to think that there might be an increasing delay that's a function of thread length.

blueerica

I don't know about stuff like this and how it all works, but everything seems to load at around the same pace as others. It would seem that loading a page in a thread doesn't load the entire thread, so I'm not sure if that's the problem.

ETA: I am a big fan of tabbed viewing, so like GD, I usually open up a handful of threads at a time, read and respond without spending any effort noticing how long pages take to load, since they're loaded by the time I get there.

Ghoulish Delight
06-20-2007, 10:06 AM
It would seem that loading a page in a thread doesn't load the entire thread, so I'm not sure if that's the problem. No, it definitely doesn't load the whole thread. But depending on how the function that picks each post is implemented, there may still be some dependency on the size. For example, a really piss poor algorithm that no one would ever use would start at the first post and ask, "Is this post one of the ones that needs to be displayed? Nope. How about the next one? Nope. Next one? Nope." etc. While that horrendously inefficient method would never actually be used, it's not always possible to make such algorithms entirely size-independent.

And now that I think about it, it's more likely the MySql implementation that matters here rather than vB.

I know some people go to the last post in a thread and read backwards. That shouldn't matter. Either of those methods (or just clicking the thread title, or just clicking one of the page numbers) loads the page in the same manner. The only difference is that AFTER the page is loaded, the browser will scroll to whichever point is correct for the button you clicked. That's an after-load operation.

Spill the news!

There was a rock slide a decade or so ago that destroyed Happy Isles one year after I finally visited it after passing it by on a great hike about a dozen times, just because it was near the start. It turned out to be a thoroughly charming place, and then it was lost to the Wroth of God.

I'm very concerned about Curry Village now. Not nearly as charming, but I've a lot of history there.

I am sorry to have left after this post, I forget how many Yosemite Swankers there are.

Well. I haven't heard about it on the news, myself, looked, but next weekend when y'all are camping, we booked a cabin in Curry Village. I had been searching every freakin' day to upgrade our one night without a bath and yesterday was successful.

Today I received a call from the Yosemite Concessions stating that due to a rockslide in Curry Village that those cabins were no longer available!! And, she said they were going down the list of names {so, more than just our one cabin, which actually is that four in one unit? I am not sure...}. Yikes and more freakin' yikes! This is just why I quit staying there. Last time we stayed there {still visit to eat, shop, stroll about} there was a small rock slide and I said no more.

Well. On top of that they put us in rooms without a bathroom!! I asked if the Awahnee was offering rooms at a reduced rate...sorry, but no ma'am.

So, all of that talk about yummy food only made me hungry. I am still searching for other lodging. If the Awahnee wasn't over $400 I'd book it.

I will keep searching for news and this reminds me they were supposed to send me an updated confirmation.

iSm, I also love Curry Village although I don't want to stay there. This is where we came with the kids for years, the same cabin each time. That rockslide incident made me start booking at the Lodge but nothing is available.

Wah.

So update on Mrs. Morgan. The school's office called in about 1/2 the class individually and they all said the same thing - her class is out of control and she does little to stop it day to day... then one day every so often she decides to buckle down and try and regain control. My daughter admits to having an attitude with her - so she will be spending detention - but in the office and not in the evil teacher's classroom. Principal says, according to the kids, teacher can have an attitude, kids too. Makes for a fun time I'm sure.

When I spoke with the Principal he divulged this - and I reminded him that although she's no angel, the teacher is the adult and is being paid to do a job properly that involved keeping control of her classroom, consistent discipline, and having the proper attitude that a teacher should have that's condusive to learning.

While he agreed, it seemed like little will be done except telling her to knock it off - AGAIN.

I'm being encouraged to call the District Office and complain there to make sure that *something* more then that is done. I'm torn. It IS the end of the school year and all that and we won't have to deal with her anymore. But then again, next year I'm sure it'll be the same thing.

What do you guys think? Call it a year or pursue it further?

We went through a hard spell back when my daughter was in the 6th grade. The class was great, the teacher a b!t(h. {LOL, I do have to code that out, right?} She gave them way too much work and basically set them up to never finish homework, classwork, etc. She would call them names and embarrass them in front of the other students. Then, she would use her 'teacher authority' to deny them things all of the students had, certain field trips that were customarily 6th grade, dances, etc.

At first, I thought it was my daughter having a problem with the work. Then I spoke with some other parents and we realized all of the kids were overwhelmed. The other classes' students were having a blast in 6th grade, our kids were miserable and stressed out.

How did it change? Well, I did complain and I was surprised that the principal sat with us at our first parent/teacher conference. {she did ask} While this principal wasn't the greatest all around {it was her first year as a principal and at this school}, she did see this teacher as a problem and wanted her gone. I think it was only that this principal came in and saw the problem that it changed. She was pulled out of the class and put with 2nd graders {how awful is that?}. Unfortunately my daughters class suffered by having about 2 or 3 different other teachers and that is sad for 6th grade.

I think the previous principals didn't do anything because they knew her, that sort of thing. Well, as more and more came out, this teacher had been a tyrant for years, women my age had stories to tell. Abuse, etc. She got majorly busted when a petite mom came in and she thought she was a student and called her stupid.

How does this relate to your story? Well...for us, it was the beginning of the year. That worked in our favor. And, we had the new principal, also a plus. So. You have to think, is it worth it to you to get this teacher out? Or at least make her do some retraining? How long has she been a teacher? Also, I think if the principal is close to her/knows her, he may not do anything. Are there other parents who can back you? {that helped me} You can follow up with the principal and see what has been done and let him know whether it is satisfactory or not and that you are going to the district.

You could be saving next years students. I know that my daughter was affected by this, the whole class was made to feel substandard to the other kids.

Up to you. I feel for you because I've been there, done that. Actually, with another teacher, too, but it was after school was out that I heard about how awful she'd been. So, that one I didn't do anything about. I am only glad that teacher retired and is away from kids.

I wish you the best.

Ghoulish Delight

Nope, they fvcked up my night. It seems that they get to declare themselves exempt from local city noise ordinances if they're working on the freeway since it's their right of way, not the cities'. Who cares if the freeway is dead smack in the middle of said freeway and half the city can hear them at midnight.

If this goes on, I'm going to send them a bill for my increased electricity bill due to having to close the windows and turn on the a/c.

On the plus side, school's out for summer! Why is that a plus for me? There are 5 schools directly on my route to work, and an unknown number a block or two in either direction. My 35 minute commute is down to 20.

When some people don't have to wake up early and it would be nice to wake up naturally for a change, ya know?

And yeah! about school being out. I so hear you about that, traffic wise. I can normally get around the schools but sometimes I forget and I'm screwed. I really don't like driving through them, not just because it takes more time but those kids are unpredictable and their parents usually running late and themselves acting like them getting their kid to school is soo important.

Then get them there earlier.

{oh, and there are normally cops all over....:eek: }

{oh, and there are normally cops all over.... }No cops on my route. Just crossing guards. At signals. WTF is up with that?

We have a lot of overnight road work around here. The reason given is that if it is done at night the traffic won't be as bad in the day. For the most part it is only done to major roads that aren't in residential areas.

I have a dilema today. Do I go out tonight, so I don't have to fix dinner or do I stay home, cook dinner and pack?

Most of my stuff is suitcase reayd, just one small load of laundry left. As always, I seem to be packing enough for a week instead of just a few days.

NA it's probablly cuz she got into water somehow. Absyenian cats usually like take to water. Trust me Jovi Girl does the same thing. She hopped into the bathtub last nite after my shower and waits for me to turn on the water facuet so she can play with the running water with her paws. She will literally take their drinking water in the kitchen and (it's only a tupperware bowl) take it with her teeth pick it up and tip it over so she can "Play" with water...lmao She is so easy to give a bath too. I've never seen a cat take to water like she has.

Well, my daughter was crossing guard back in the day {but we had no signals, probably why we had cops a lot...}. I think they do it to make the kids presence more known. And, to help guide the kids.

But, unfortunately, they also had to be OSHA {?} and the kids were told to hold the signs a different way. To me, less visible. One morning, I saw this little girl, safe in the crosswalk with the signs 'down' by the crossing guards almost get hit by a car, driven by a mother who was totally oblivious. I thought I was going to see this girl flattened, the mother never stopped. I think she came thisclose to her. Seriously.

Oh how cool about the cats liking water!!! I wish mine did.

So, seeing as I'm sitting at the front desk of our Newport office today, I'm in charge of checking all faxes that come in as soon as they come in, in case it's a time-sensitive offer/acceptance/etc. But most of it is cr*p. After one mortgage company sent me two consecutive and identical two-page faxes, I'd had enough. I took the biggest Sharpie in my drawer, and wrote "STOP SPAMMING THIS NUMBER" "STOP SPAM" "NOBODY READS IT BUT RECEPTIONISTS" and "TAKE US OFF YOUR LIST" on the pages and faxed it back to them. Felt good.

Now they know that somebody at your fax number actually reads the faxes. Expect more.

Betty - I only had time for a quick skim of what you wrote...

I think it's important to register a complaint, since, if no one ever does than it's not on record. However, if you're one of the first to finally step forward, it's an awfully long road to having anything done about it. I see my aunt go through this all the time as a teacher, her horror stories of other teachers who simply aren't doing there job and there's little to nothing that will be done about it over tenure. And worse, it's situations like this that make teachers on the whole look bad. My aunt lost her tenure with Long Beach schools when she left to have my cousins, came back and was on the bottom rung. C'est la vie.

On the other hand, tenure is good, because it protects teachers (hopefully good ones) from being replaced left and right for reasons like lesser pay, yada yada... you get what I'm saying. While it protects the ones that are doing well, it also protects those that are pieces of crap.

Hopefully registering a complaint, or more, will at least put a ding into her.

Did the fax have an 800 number to call to be taken out of their database?

Betty, one thing I've learned from my parents (career public school teachers) is that you should ask to see your daughter's file (you have that right) to make sure this teacher hasn't put anything on record that might hinder her in the future. My sister went through a very similar experience with a teacher that, for whatever reason, did not like her and regularly singled her out. When she ended up the next year, her first in Jr. High, in remedial math, my parents got suspicious, asked to see the record, and found that that one teacher had put notes in there that were the reason she was, incorrectly, assigned to that class.

You have the right to see everything, and you have a right to say hell no if they are doing something that you don't want for your child.

Well, I expected the late night last night, courtesy Caltrans, to lead me to cave and fall off the caffeine-free wagon. But save for some Pepsi last night (had to mix the run with something*), I haven't touched a drop and here I am at 3:30 feeling wide awake. Huzzah, I am free of the percolated devil (for now)!

*Let's just go ahead and assume we had the, "What? Rum and Pepsi! Coke only!" conversation and skip it. Besides, as far as I'm concerned, if you put the proper amount of rum, especially Myer's dark, it shouldn't matter what the substrate is.

This probably shouldn't be considered work-safe, for text reasons, but it's on the MSN site: "Toys"* go green... for health's sake (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19333870/)

*- You know the kind of "toys" I'm referring to here... right?

Words to live by

Years ago, I worked for a hot tempered Basque chef who would storm into the bar and order a Pepsi, meaning Myer's and coke. Rumor has it one day in Jamaica he picked up a prep cook and set him on the grill. Colorful guy!I haven't thought of him in years.
