Time to call the BBB. You had a contract for 24 months, not 25. That's a load of crap.

Except that it turns into a month to month contract once the 24 months are up.

It's amazing how much adrenalin can build up in your system between the time you receive the email saying one of your grades has posted and the time your jittery fingers can log into the student info system and pull up your transcript.

To my complete shock, I received an A in Professional Responsibility.

Now I can go back to computing the "worst cases scenario" GPA for my international law grade.
Visible mojo for your "A"!

So... my contract is up today, so I can cancel. Well the F-ers have my billing cycle set to end on the 26th, and since today is the 27th (the first day I could cancel), I have to start a new month. You also have the argument that the 26th was not a business day.

To my complete shock, I received an A in Professional Responsibility.I think that you are the only one who is shocked - none of the rest of us are!!! Congrats!

Have you been measuring your semen output??

Does that suggestion come with directions? One of the things I learned about when we talking with the doctor about in-vitro fertilization was one of the methods for securing a sperm sample. Apparently, there is an occasional need to manually capture the sample from the source. But this is done without making an incision. They actually put a tube up the urethra that travels all the way to the testis to collect the sample.

And now, as every male reads this, he is more than likely bending over in sympathy pain. It made me cringe when I heard about it and I wasn't even a candidate for this procedure.

Yay! I had forgotten that my UCC professor edits the cases he wants us to read down into easily digested chunks of relevant material. I knew there was a reason I liked him. And my health law text was written by the prof who taught my section of constitutional law - and he is a damn fine author, I must say. I would honestly read that text just to learn more about the subject - even if it wasn't assigned. Maybe this last term won't be deadly dull after all!

I wasn't just being a paranoid ninny about my grade - the prof made a big deal about participation being 25% of the grade, and then only called on me once (but called on other people over and over.) So I figured if I did really well on the exam I'd get a B+. Thus, the A is quite a nice surprise.

Meanwhile, I have "I'm Henry VIII, I am" stuck in my head - as performed by Banana Erectors.

"Why does C have 2 mothers? Why is S considered his guardian and K his mom?"

C is a friend of his at school, in his class for the 3rd time since first grade. I work with one of his moms.

So I kept it simple, just saying that he had 2 moms like some kids have a mom & a dad and some kids can have 2 dads.

They're trying to make Amy go to rehab, but she says "No! No! No!".

Amy Winehouse's father-in law says fans should stop buying her records to force the singer to seek help for what he called a drug addiction.

Giles Fielder-Civil said he believed Winehouse and his son, Blake Fielder-Civil, had used cocaine, crack cocaine and heroin and were in "abject denial" about their problem.

"I think they believe they are recreational users of drugs and they are in control," Fielder-Civil told British Broadcasting Corp. radio Tuesday. "Clearly they are addicts."

He said fans should send a message to Winehouse "that her addiction and her behavior are not acceptable."

Right now I am cycling through a manic phase, can't sleep, restless, the whole bit. I cleaned out a bunch of stuff in his bathroom and sprayed some more mold killer stuff.

I found myself in front of one of the bedroom closets. I am getting ready to start moving out all of his ammo boxes (the guns are at his folks). There they were, a nice little stack, where he had hidden them, under one of the heavier boxes.

Why would you, as a married man, keep a picture a girl had give you (picture a school-type picture with the back signed) that says on the back, "To my one true love, someday we will be together the way we are meant to be."

I had found that picture years ago, and the chick was psycho anyways, and she was tryng to cause all sorts of problems. I was pissed, but wrote it off. He had told me he tossed the picture (after I had found it in his sock drawer). I found it last night under a bunch of stuff in his bathroom.

Other members of the cast were people I have not thought of in years! A couple of people I worked with in a bank 10 years ago and a person from grade school.

all the world's a stage

...And all the men and women merely players:
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages. At first the infant,
Mewling and puking in the nurse's arms.
And then the whining school-boy, with his satchel
And shining morning face, creeping like snail
Unwillingly to school. And then the lover,
Sighing like furnace, with a woeful ballad
Made to his mistress' eyebrow. Then a soldier,
Full of strange oaths and bearded like the pard,
Jealous in honour, sudden and quick in quarrel,
Seeking the bubble reputation
Even in the cannon's mouth. And then the justice,
In fair round belly with good capon lined,
With eyes severe and beard of formal cut,
Full of wise saws and modern instances;
And so he plays his part. The sixth age shifts
Into the lean and slipper'd pantaloon,
With spectacles on nose and pouch on side,
His youthful hose, well saved, a world too wide
For his shrunk shank; and his big manly voice,
Turning again toward childish treble, pipes
And whistles in his sound. Last scene of all,
That ends this strange eventful history,
Is second childishness and mere oblivion,
Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything.

Now, c'mon, that's a pretty advanced prank for a high school student. Sure they have to be punished, but it should have been like a single day suspension and an essay on sportsmanship, not banning them from extracurriculars for a whole semester and 3 days suspension. Too much.

Besides, you ban productive kids from productive activties, you leave them time to produce more trouble :) (but ya gotta admire the spunk!)

This happened to me on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving when I was in college. I was a receptionist and my hours were 12-6 (I spilt it with another gal who worked 6-12). So by the time I start at noon 3/4 of the builiding has left. By about one when my supervisior leaves there are four people left, the CEO and CFO being two of them. My supervisior tells me just stay until the CEO leaves then shut off the switchboard and head out.

So I wait and I wait and I wait. By 3 it's just the CFO and the CEO. And the phone has not rung for at least an hour. Wait some more. The lobby area was seperate from the rest of the office so I'm out there totally by myself bored out of my mind. Wait some more. Finally at 5:50 the CEO and CFO emmerge. And the CEO says "Oh you should have left hours ago"

It seems this sort of thing happens to me just about every darned time. Ugh.

KS - that happened to us in my old company in our old building. Our manager forgot we were upstairs (2 of us in another suite separate from the rest of the dept). He came upstairs and said WTF are you doing here still?

New company - can't leave till 5. We're a service based company and heaven help our clients (who are probably gone for the day) if they can't reach someone at 4:55 on a Friday before a 3 day weekend. Me? I can sneak out around 4:30 if I want. But I'm going to see Toby Keith with a co-worker and she can't leave till 5.

Work was not too bad today. I then went to Walmart on orders to go there to buy some Capris that fit. I am going to Brew's in the Village next weekend and I was told that my pants are too big and I need to be showing off how much weight I have lost.

Walmart is HELL! I knew there was a reason I avoided it. They had nothing for me. The store was dirty, overcrowded and the aisles are way too narrow to have more than one cart at a time.

I did see my sister in law, and that was nice. We had a nice little visit. I do like my sister in laws. They have been very supportive.

I also got a call from Nickolas. His face is sunburned and he wants to come home. I know it is not as bad as he was saying, and he was just using it as an excuse not to be there.

So here I sit. My treat for today is Jamba Juice. It is too dang hot to do much. My car was showing 112, so that means it is 109.

I am also going to have to put Thudder down next week. Her belly is very distended. She is still active, loving, eating and drinking, but I can start to see that she is not comfortable. I found a vet nearby that will do it for $10. She is one rat that I will truly miss.

Well, today I am nursing a broken toe. Was I playing soccer (not bloody likely), running to catch a MUNI bus and tripped on the curb (more likely), no, I was coming in from getting the mail, Tango shot out the front door wanting to claw the carpet in the hallway and I'm not sure what I did. I either slammed it into the doorframe and/or got caught up with Tango under my foot, I thought I had stepped on her but she did not yelp. Heck, maybe I stepped on my own toe, now that would make much more sense. Anyway, bruised now and yucky, but I can walk, just not down one of the steep hills for a few days I suspect.

So far, I've been free from injury in my life, major one's anyway (knock wood) but this is now my 3rd broken toe in the last few years. I suppose I do need steel toed boots after all.

Ok, so Ken and I are back from our big ocean voyage.

The main thing I learned - take time out each day for myself, instead of the silly 18-hour daily mess that I was pushing prior to the trip. Zen is available anywhere, not just on the seas. ;)

Anyway, I seriously took about 2,500 photos, and I'm on number 365 for reviewing. I'll have a super huge trip report coming after I'm through sorting the pics.

And, I must say that we're going to have a serious blast for 15 nights next May. :D Disney really kept us entertained, well fed, and gave us all kinds of perks like a hardcover book about crossing the Atlantic, a limited edition litho which we got to have signed by Don "Ducky" Williams (he'll be on our cruise next May too, and he does various workshops like on how to draw Mickey, etc.), certificates commemorating the crossing, chocolate €uros, and so much more. :D

Anyway, glad to be back! Now, it'll just take a bit to catch up on what's been going on around here.

So, I wake up, start working {start getting hot right away}, including the dryer in the garage {hot!!} and I will go on being hot all day 'cause when I'm done, it will be hot outside, period. We might get a thunderstorm this afternoon, and then it should be sunny and in the 70s to low 80s the rest of the week.

I have the week off from zoo and show. I think I'll be wandering the streets of Portland, randomly enjoying the approach of Indian Summer.

She was sooo nervous- she could hardly sleep last night, poor kid. She loves school, but her last classroom experience was not a good one so she is a bit apprehensive. (Me, too). Still, it's not like we can't just pull her out and continue on privately homeschooling, and this way she gets a bit more socialization.

No thanks to the Travel Channel's website (you think people want to see photos from the first to series, but only want travel info on series 3? Is this the TRAVEL channel, or what?), but I think I found the info on that really awesome looking place in Java:

Congrats, GC and Pru! :) Yay!! And BTD got her tickets- yay for you too!

Me, I'm just kicking back. Not a lot going on here. I think I have learned that 10 miles is my mountain-bike limit in truly hot weather. I made the 8 mile ride just fine, but the 15s kill me.

We had an awesome event at work today to celebrate the end of summer - Dunk Tank Full O' Management!
(with bags of ice added to the water)
There was a DJ, and a big VIP tent and a bbq - I'm glad and sad that summer has come to an end (well, except for the silly heat).

I have removed most of the mold that was almost totally covering the ceiling and upper walls in the master bath (formerly known as David's bathroom). Unfortunatly I have also managed to removed most of the stenciling that the previous owner had done. Fortunatly I will end up repainting the room in the future.

I have started at the top (ceiling) and am slowly working my way down the walls.

Eventually I hope to make this my primary bathroom. I don't think I have even used it in the last 9 years. After a time I even refused to step foot in it. It is amazing what some bleach cleaner and elbow grease can accomplish.

Ah, Xcelerator....

There was a time when my Boy thought that everything you did that was a wee bit exciting was going to kill you {motorcycles, roller coasters, etc....it was right after his first dealings with death, his grandmother had passed away but I digress....}

We were at Knott's and the Hubster and the Son were going to ride it. My Boy and I stood at the exit to watch them. The Boy was like, 'They're gonna die!!!' and I laughed but then realized he was serious. I thought 'Oh shiet, that would really fvck up my kid if they did!!!' So, I really prayed to the amusement park Gods that this ride would be uneventful...and it was.

MG~ mold...ugh...I need to work on my sons room....he had a leak, not just mold like in the shower. {not my Boy had a leak, the bathroom next to his room did....thank God my Boy did not!!}

You two. Just too easy...or else I'm just in a off color mood.

Kevy Baby. Such a cute name. There is a young guy at work named Kevin. I have to literally bite my tongue to not call him Kevy Baby. My husband thinks he has a crush on me but I think he is nuts. {hubby = nuts} But, I don't think calling him Baby, in any sense, would be good.

I do call him 'Kevin!!!' a la 'Home Alone'.

Yeah, I know. Wow.

Carry on.

Oh, wait, is anyone going to the KROQ Inland Invasion? I'd love to but this weather has been too hot to even consider a festival type show. But oh, if I could!!!!! Chris Cornell, The Foo Fighters, Velvet Revolver, Smashing Pumpkins...to name a few....Wow, freakin' wow.

Oh, so he lives close by? Hello? Do tell!!

Okay, so it's a Magistrate judge in West Virginia, but I DON'T CARE!!!!! It's actually near Pittsburgh, which is where I was born.

Ohhh! I just love West Virginia!

In MD we have to drive 55 on 5-Lane Interstates
In WV you can do 65 on twisty mountian roads. In the dark.

In MD sparklers are illegal due to being dangerous.
In WV you can purchase 12" shells complete with tube launchers.

I Love me the WV!

Good luck on the interview.

We have a new outside auditing firm this year. I listened to one of them talk to my supervisor today. He explained to her how they like to follow one transaction from beginning to end. The first thing he wants to dig into is a fee we charge for booking airline tickets. We're talking about $35. I guess he'll get around to the real money eventually but let's make sure that $35 is okay.
